Nectarine Ginger Frozen Yogurt Recipe

The spicy-hot accent of crystallized ginger teases extra flavor from sweet, ripe nectarines in this healthful dessert. Pears make a great stand-in for the nectarines or peaches. If you can find the thicker Greek-style yogurt, it is an excellent choice for this dessert.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup water 
  • ¼ cup sugar 
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and chopped 
  • 1 pound ripe nectarines or peaches (about 3) 
  • ¼ cup honey 
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 cups unflavored 2% or full-fat yogurt
  • 1/3 cup diced crystallized ginger
